In lean, fast-moving teams, culture is operational. It shapes how quickly decisions get made, how conflict gets handled and whether teams can sustain growth without burning people out.

What made this partnership particularly powerful was the level of intentionality from Paul and the leadership team. This wasn’t a “tick the box” leadership program. The work was actively co-designed around the real friction points surfaced through their EX survey and our Discovery process.

Guided by our team, the entire Naked Wines team jumped on a program of work that stretched over the course of 8 months and blended a multitude of activities


Culture & Leadership Discovery

Underpinned by our trademarked methodology we assessed the team on three dimensions:

  • Psychological Safety

  • Beliefs & Behaviours

  • Leadership Alignment

 

Manager Accelerator

The managers went through a dedicated Accelerator. They built capability ahead of their teams. So when the broader program rolled out, they could:

  • Reinforce learning
  • Experiment with new tools immediately
  • Model behaviours
  • Lead with confidence

Team Coaching

Taking key learnings from topics like 'growth mindset' and ''Feedback that Builds. Not Breaks' into the practical application of real everyday situations allowed for real shifts in behaviour to happen gradually.

Building real muscle memory and layering learnings into new habits incrementally.

Reflective Exercises

Creating space to help new concepts land and open up new ways of thinking.

Highlights

  • Paul Connell, the Managing Director, did something that sounds simple but is rare. He listened. Not just to the EX survey data. But to what sat underneath it.

  • Leaders built a shared picture of what 'high-performing leaders do at Naked'. This became a set of standards the each held themselves and each other accountable to.

  • The program culminated in a 'Squiggly Career' workshop designed to reframe career progression.

Finding a partner to help us on that journey wasn't easy and so I'm very grateful for Hiam Sakakini who pushed us, pushed me and then built something perfectly fit to Naked.
